Yin & Meditation helps us connect to ourselves, quieten the mind and teaches us to be in stillness. Both practices can help our body and mind discharge and restore by dialling up and dropping into the rest and digest side of our nervous system, also known as, the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS).
In this workshop, Jessica will guide you through two meditation practices at the beginning and end and a yin practice in the middle. Jessica will discuss how both practices can cultivate a sense of loving kindness and compassion towards ourselves. These are central components to the yoga philosophy and way of thinking.
The yin practice is like doing a mini meditation as we move from shape to shape. It can be challenging to slow down and invite stillness in to the body and the mind, it’s the antithesis to our everyday. The yin practice can be for some a great entry point into meditation with the right intention. Our meditation practice is a powerful tool as it cultivates self-awareness and teachers us to observe our habitual mind patterns without judgement. Both practices help us train the mind to gain greater control of our thoughts and how we respond and react to everyday situations.
